Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Typical Physical Demands - Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye/hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires heavy lifting up to 40 pounds by self, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. (Does not meet lifting requirements for Prehospital. In order to cross-train to that Department, further lifting evaluations are required). Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range and color vision. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluids. Environment - Works within the Hospital facility. Travels to other facilities based on requirements in the Transport Standard. Scheduling - Hours include weekdays, weekends, holidays, all shifts, and overtime requirements. *Overtime is an essential job function for this position in order to meet the needs of our patients. The inability to perform overtime could result in termination. Work schedule may be affected by emergencies.
